SAFECROWDS has been the security partner for Electric Brixton for more than a decade, providing a wide range of integrated security services to keep staff and guests safe and assets secure.

Located in south west London, Electric Brixton is an iconic music venue that hosts both live music and club nights. Formerly known as the Brixton Fridge, the venue reopened as Electric Brixton following a refurbishment in 2013, and it has since become the one of the UK’s leading music venues, hosting major names such as Liam Gallagher, Emeli Sandé, Suede, Faithless, and Sam Smith, along with the hottest up-and-coming bands. Owned by Electric Group, which has acquired a portfolio of music venues, Electric Brixton is one of the UK’s most renowned music venues and has expressed a commitment to caring for both its team and the communities in which it operates.

SAFECROWDS provides door and front of house security at Electric Brixton, including bag and body search teams. Our trained and experienced Electric Brixton team is directly employed by us and we are able to provide consistent personnel who know the property, understand the venue’s operating procedures and are familiar to regular customers and staff.

We also provide K9 drug detection teams, carrying out sweeps and patrols of the venue with trained dogs and handlers to help deliver the client’s duty of care from a safeguarding perspective, and prevent drug-related crime on site. Our medical and response teams at the venue are also deployed as part of the client’s safeguarding duty of care, and all our teams are ACT (Action Counters Terrorism) and first aid trained.

Our security services at Electric Brixton also include front of stage pit teams to protect the artist or DJ on stage, and keep customers safe from hazards such as crowd surfing, moshing and anti-social behaviour. Meanwhile, our backstage security teams are there to keep performers safe and ensure the security of equipment and personal possessions; from the moment the artist enters the building until they are safely en route after their performance.

Every event is different at this busy venue, and we receive a monthly schedule of events from Electric Brixton team to enable us to plan the most appropriate  personnel and consider event-specific risks that need to be addressed as part of each deployment. We work closely with the venue’s own management team to ensure everyone is briefed and that our deployment is aligned to their operational requirements.

Our services are managed through our Guardhouse scheduling, reporting and management information system, which enables the client to log on to a secure portal, giving them access to a dashboard where they can view which members of the security team are on site at any given time, and verify all checks and logs. In this way, routine activities such as toilets, floor, and fire exit checks are logged digitally in real time, along with any incident reports (including relevant photographs), entry refusals, or enforcement visits. With geofencing to provide accurate and verifiable information about when each member of the SAFECROWDS team arrived on site and left, this system not only provides Electric Brixton with full visibility of what’s happening minute-to-minute, but also integrates with our billing systems for accurate and accountable invoicing too.

Electric Brixton is just one of the nighttime economy businesses that benefit from our integrated security services and trained, experienced teams, building on our portfolio across music venues, pubs, bars and clubs.
